Secret Sister Stuff

*NOTE: This post contains information and pictures that can not be seen by my family (some of which check my LJ frequently), therefore the need to be F-Locked is necessary.

Wedding dress shopping today was a success for Rachel, myself, and even Mom! The dress I ended up with wasn’t there in my size so there’s no picture to provide, but hopefully with all of the weight I intend to lose it will look even better than what we could tell when the big day finally comes. And Mom’s got a “sexy” mothers dress. She didn’t want to have an “old lady” dress. (LOL) The one she ended up with was very flattering and didn’t make her look old at all :)

And these are the two dresses it came down to for Rachel. Which one she actually chose, I will not reveal. But both were great on her and the one she finally went with will look beautiful for her wedding.

So the wedding dresses above is just part of the secrets sister stuff mentioned in the title above. The second bit of news is crazy unexpected…

I’m going to be an Aunt!

That’s right. My baby sister is having a baby. She’s not really a baby of course, she’ll be 26 this year, but she still feels like a baby to me. I can’t believe she’s going to be a Mommy!

The kicker… the baby is due 3 months before her wedding. She’s got a rough year in store for her between being pregnant and planning a wedding. Oh, and finding a house because they currently rent with roommates in the city which is not exactly ideal for raising a baby.

I’m surprisingly excited for her though. I’m not much of a kid’s kind of person. I always thought I’d have my own one day, but as I’ve aged the idea seems less and less for me. Maybe being an Aunt will prove me wrong though?

I’m so happy for my sister right now. Between all the awesomeness of my new crit group this week and the good things going on for my sister, happiness is literally radiating off of me. My cheeks hurt from the constant smile I’ve been wearing all week!

Rachel & Me (Today)

Peace – Sarah

Congratulations Sarah! That’s very exciting news. Though horribly stressful I would imagine for everyone. I hope your sister finds a house soon.

I love both of the dresses. Just gorgeous. Wow. Usually I’m really picky and I can’t contain my “what are you wearing” feelings when watching Say Yes to the Dress or something, but those two! Ahhhh.

(Everyone I know is getting married!….Not everyone but you know.)

Thanks Anne! It is really exciting, more exciting than I would have even thought in truth. I am dreading the stress level she’ll face though. They actually already found a house they’re interested in for a reasonable price, they just have to work out the kinks and go through settlement so they could be moving out within the next two months! Rachel doesn’t waste any time – lol.

Both dresses were really beautiful (especially in person). They’re ivory instead of that stark white that’s typical of weddings. I didn’t think I’d like ivory when she said thats what she wanted, but against her skin it was much more appealing.

Once my sisters wedding is out of the way I’ll finally be having mine so this time next year I’ll be in her shoes (minus the baby of course)!

Wow, both those wedding dresses are stunning! I can only imagine how difficult it was for your sister to settle on just one.

And…aw! Baby! That’s gonna be mega-stressful alongside the wedding, but still! Exciting! Congrats to all of you, Auntie Sarah. 😉

They were both so pretty. She shopped all day yesterday trying on tons of dresses that did nothing but disappoint, but then today the first two she tried on were the ones. She just had to pick exactly which one. It was a lot more fun than I thought it’d be and it was great seeing her so excited.

And I know, Auntie Sarah. It’s crazy. I’m still trying to wrap my head around it, but I’m really excited for her. I know it will be stressful (for sure), but at least she’s knocking three stressful things out all in the same year. Should be smooth sailing after that, right? Hopefully….

It was a lovely day, huh? Even if you don’t post it on here you owe me a pic of the dress we picked for you too missy.

No one took a picture of it. They only took a picture of that dark blue one that we didn’t get.

I totally like the first dress. It flows and is awesome. The second dress would work better on someone who is T-A-L_L_E-R than you little girls are. JMO Just curious about the baby before wedding thing. Is Jack going to pop a cork? I am thrilled that you are so happy about the impending fun that being an aunt can be! Auntie Sarah is going to suit you well. Babies are awesome. Thanks for sharing all the fabulous news. Can’t wait to hear about your dress!!! Have a good weekend Cupcake.

So…. we will discuss the dress choice more on Monday at work ::wink wink::

As for how Papa Jack is doing about the baby… well, he’s prodded us both for years now about grandchildren so I’m imagine he’s happy. Sure it’s not ideal, but God’s blessings can’t be questioned. :)

You are going to be a kickass aunt… I can tell… :) (and trust me with 4 sisters, I have some serious experience with sisters being aunts). How exciting for your sister! Haha, kids are great, but it is good to know beforehand that your life will never “settle down” after you have them. 😛

The picture of the two of you is SO cute. Your hair looks amazing!

      Haha, I hope I’m a good aunt. I hope.

I’m sure my sister knows she has much in store for her. Even if other kids don’t follow, this year alone will be a handful. I hope it makes her happy though (despite the stress).

Thanks for the hair/picture comment. I don’t exactly love it, but I wanted a newish picture of her and I cause I loves her and was feeling extra lovey with all the good news :)
