Friday, finally you’re here!

Seriously, this has felt like the longest week ever. My workload at work is so low and easy that it’s hard to pace myself to make it last. This lack of work has me concerned about my job status, but I’m trying not to let my worrying ways get the best of me right now.

My boredom at work has allowed for a variety of things to happen though such as:

– Finishing another Dark-Hunter novel and starting the next.
– Getting some writing/review accomplished on my current WIP
– Analysis of Animal Crackers (What? Boredom can make you do crazy things.)

Said analysis went something like this…

1. I’m prejudice against the bloated ones. The ones that are unusually swelled and deformed. I’m not sure why, but I can’t bring myself to eat them. It’s very against my natural views in life. Good thing it only applies to cookies.

2. The song “Animal Crackers in my soup…” is just absurd. Who puts cookies in their soup? Should be “Oyster Crackers in my soup…” or something like that.

3. There seems to be an abundance of camels in the mix. I’m not sure if it’s just this particular bag or if camels dominate the Animal Cracker population. I will take note on the next bag to test my theories.

I think my boss thought I was crazy to be having such a serious conversation with him over something so not important, but like I said boredom can drive you to do ridiculous things.

Moving on…

I really hope to get some writing accomplished this weekend because I’ve got all sorts of awesome ideas for new chapters that have never even been written before (in the first draft) and I’m eager to get them onto paper. BUT I’m not joking when I say that my hand is killing me. I could barely even grip the steering wheel on the way home yesterday without the brace on and it’s very difficult to write with the brace on. So…. we’ll see just how much I can actually get accomplished depending on how my hand cooperates. (I’m really trying to not be a baby about this, but damn it hurts).

I also hope to finish this latest Dark-Hunter novel because I’m so eager to get to one that’s another five books away that I feel the urge to race through these next few. Luckily they are rather short in comparison to the others I’ve read.

Aside from that, there’s not much else on my plate for the weekend with the exception of sleeping in (because Lord knows I love that on weekends). Oh, AND Heather says the book I won should be here tomorrow which makes me uber excited! Maybe I will post a picture when it arrives, possibly with my super excited face and ridiculous brace as well for your amusement.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and all of my writer friends out there have some writing success this weekend (even if I end up not).

Happy Friday!

Peace – Sarah

I’m hoping the book gets there Saturday, since that’s what the post office said! Definitely post a picture whenever it DOES arrive, whether it includes your ridiculous brace or not. 😉

That still sucks about your hand, by the way. But it’s just ONE hand, right? So you can attempt to write with your non-dominant hand, maybe? Wait, I might be overestimating the ability for others to write that way unless they’re also ambidextrous…

And the stuff with the Animal Crackers…HAHAHA. I can totally picture myself doing something like that when bored. (Probably because my mind likes to dive into the Realms of Randomness REALLY fast. At least it keeps me entertained!)

And DANG, you just keep plowing through those Dark-Hunter books! I haven’t even finished the two books I started reading this month, despite the fact that they’re really, really good. *slow reader is slow*

Crossing my fingers that you’ll get some writing accomplished! It’s already hard enough being inspired, so hopefully all your hand-pain won’t get in the way of that inspiration.

Yeah, it’s just one hand, but it’s my right hand and I’m only right handed. Trying to do things with the left is no fun. Probably hilarious looking to anyone watching, but dreadful for me.

I totally dive into the Realms of Randomness quickly too, bored or not truthfully. My mind just wanders in the strangest directions. Maybe that’s why we get along so well ;P

I’ve already read 5 Dark-Hunter novels this month alone. I’m on the 6th now. At this point it feels a bit like a game. Like, how many can I actually finish in one month? Cause this will be the most books in one month to date.

Thanks for the fingers crossed because like you said, it’s hard enough to get inspired sometimes so it would suck to lose the inspiration just because my hand wants to act a fool. I will push through the pain though until I cry. That’s how badly I want to get some writing achieved this weekend.

I’m glad it isn’t just me. This week was soooo long. (Working in the AEC industry has its deathly-boring days, just had 5 of ’em).

Hopefully we’ll all get the chance to write this weekend! I’m not going to hold my breath though between the kids, going to the National Book Festival tomorrow and homework (seriously, who thought taking more classes was a good idea? …it couldn’t have been me…I must have been sleep registering) its going to be a crazy weekend. But there’s always hope for NEXT weekend right?

Hope your hand starts feeling better soon. I know it sucks to rest it but really the more you rest it now the better it will be in the long run. =)

Please specify the AEC industry…. many things come up in search, one of which is similar to my own day job and I’m overly curious now. I just had 5 of them as well (per usual)….

You should make a post about what your book is about since you’re semi new and seeking friends. It will give people (like me) an idea of what your writing is like or at minimum what kind of book it is.

National Book Festival? Where is this? I live in MD too (like you) and am wondering why I don’t know about this and wishing I was going. Inform me, quick!

I hear ya on homework. After 5 years of school (that virtually went no where) I can’t imagine going back (even if deep inside I really want too). The idea of homework though, ruins me.

There IS always NEXT weekend… when you work full time jobs, you live for the weekends. PERIOD!

Thanks for the well wishes on my hand. Truthfully it’s feeling surprisingly well right now, however I was swayed into reading at least 5 more chapters of the latest Dark-Hunter novel and then watching “Meet me at the Greek” INSTEAD of writing… which disappoints me. However, I fully intend on calling it a night soon and waking early to accomplish all that should have been written tonight tomorrow morning.

Sorry, I use the abbreviation so often I forget when I’m not at work. It’s Architecture/Engineering/Construction. My current day job is in marketing/bd for a food service design firm.

The National Book Festival is tomorrow in DC! I always find out about it the week after so I’m SOOO excited to find out about it in advance for once! (http://www.loc.gov/bookfest) It’s going to be a great day of geekin out! =)

I’m actually working on a post about my writing now! It’s surprisingly difficult to put some of my descriptive thoughts into words (FRUSTRATION!) but I’ll get it done soon hopefully.

WHOA! I’m a surveyor/engineer, but I actually do the drafting part. Designing of communities and plats, translating field work, etc… Totally odd coincidence, especially in MD too. WHOA!

Man, DC is like 2 1/2 hours away from me, but sadly I don’t recognize many of the authors on the bill so I’m not sure it’s worth the travel? I need to get in the know of such events though. I would LOVE to meet someone who is super awesome to me.

Looking forward to your post to see what you’re all about as a writer 😉
